He was predeceased by: his parents, Avis Charles Cox and Stella Jewel Cox (Madden); and his siblings, Sheila Chumlet and Chuck Cox. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Cox; his children, Tammy Sue Deleo (James), William Cox, Jr., Billy' (Donna-Pound) and Charles Vincent Cox; his grandchildren, Amber Boggs, Cody Cox, Mackenzie Fleming, Daniel Deleo, Liam Deleo, Tesla Cox, Hannah Cox, Brittany Cox, Vincent Cox, Lucas Cox and Mollie Cox; and his great grandchildren, Draven Boggs, Willow Boggs, Rose Boggs and Aaron Fleming. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel (11316 Riverside Dr, Pound, VA 24279). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mountain Home National Cemetery (215 Heroes Dr, Johnson City, TN 37604).
