With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nell Fern Hammond of Pounding Mill, Virginia, who passed away on November 19, 2023 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Nell Fern Hammond to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Morris Ferrell and Virginia Stillwell Ferrell; her husband Eugene Hammons; her son Johnny Brown; and her siblings, Rosa Rose, Deborah Stillwell and James Stillwell.

She is survived by : her daughter Gail Tatum (Jerry) of Pounding Mill, VA; her siblings, Brenda Atlas of Olympia, Washington and Manuel Stillwell of Swords Creek, VA; her grandchildren, Rebecca Brown, Travis Tatum (Kellie) and Brett Tatum (Sydnei); and her daughter Tena Brown of Richlands, VA. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
