With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Alvin Barden Sr. of Powhatan, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 26, 2025 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Leon Barden, Sr. and Annie Berger Barden; and his sisters, Ann Waldrop and Donna Burkholder. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lewis Barden; his children, Sharon White (Donald), Richard "Rick" Barden, Jr. (Evelyn) and Ron Barden (Diana); and his siblings, David Barden (Bobbie) and Nancy Davis. He is also survived by grandchildren, six (6) great grandchildren, two (2) step-grandchildren and five (5) step-great grandchildren.
