He is survived by: his wife Rachel Mair; his son Andrew Garst; his parents, Carolyn Garst and Toby Garst; his brothers, Jamie Garst (Sarah) and Kevin Garst (Sarah); and his nieces and nephews, Jackson, Parker, Finn, Lauren and Elizabeth. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to a wildlife conservation or outdoor education organization of their choosing, in honor of David's lifelong commitment to animals and nature.
