With sadness, we share the passing of Deaconess Edith Crawley Atkins of Providence Forge, Virginia. Deaconess, born on September 3, 1930 in Charles City, Virginia, passed away on August 21, 2026. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Crawley and Hattie "Kate" Crawley; her husband Edward L. Atkins, Sr.; and her significant other Edith. She is survived by: her sons, Edward "Junior" and Marvin (Helen); her grandchildren, Kevin, Marvin Jr., Monet, Sharonda, Terrell, Tracie, Crystal, Edward III and Elvin; and her caregiver Shivawn Cotman. She is also survived by great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Viewing was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Little Elam Baptist Church (8840 Church Ln, Charles City, VA 23030). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
