It is with sadness that the passing of Jean A. Stewart of Providence Forge, Virginia is shared. Jean, born on February 21, 1940, passed away on October 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard A. Adkins and Lucille D. Adkins; her siblings, Phyllis A. Stewart, Iris E. Holmes, H. Milton Adkins and Lorenze "Buzz" Adkins; and her daughter Glenda L. Canaday.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald O. Stewart; her daughters, Susan J. Adkins (Dwayne), Melanie R. Stewart and Sandy Stewart; her son-in-law J. "Doug" Canaday; her grandchildren, Lindsey Johnson (Montrell), Jessica Stewart (Ross), Jenna Washington (Shawn), John M. Canaday (Abby), Cody Stewart (Brittani) and Sydney Adkins; her great grandchildren, Madison, Landon, Ella, Mila, Lawson, Elijah, Lyla, Aubrey, Shenoa, Ava, Harper and John Paul; her great great grandchild TJ; her siblings, Janet A. Adkins, H. "Don" Adkins (Jackie), Stephen R. Adkins (Eunice) and Stanley W. Adkins (Loretta); her siblings-in-law, Linda Adkins, Juanita Canaday, Rosalyn Stewart, Sydelle Stewart, John Jefferson, Clint Stewart (Rose Mary), Kevin Stewart and Melvin Stewart; and her close friends, Gladys Adkins, Maurica Canaday and Adell Eden. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge Chapel (9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Samaria Baptist Church (8130 Lott Cary Rd, Providence Forge, VA 23140).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chickahominy Indian Tribe.
