She was predeceased by: her husband Dewey Lee Adkins; her parents, Rudolph Adkins and Louise Adkins; Herman Adkins, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Betsy Jamerson and Jennifer Christian (Ryan); her grandchildren, Raven Christian of Russell and Ryan "Neal" Christian; her sister Chrystal Adkins; and her son-in-law Nat Jamerson. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Samaria Baptist Church for the Cannon Ball Mission Fund or the Chickahominy Indian Tribe.
