With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Lee Surface of Pulaski, Virginia, born in Ceredo, West Virginia, who passed away on August 19, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Ruby Workman Pratt and Victor Lewis Pratt; her husband Harry Surface; her sister Iris Jean Arthur; her brother-in-law Don Arthur; her sister Alice Douglas; her brother-in-law Junior Douglas; her nephew Lloyd Douglas; and her stepmother Dorothy Pratt Napier.

She is survived by : her siblings, Lewis Pratt (Vanessa) and Virginia Lois Pratt Gower; her daughter Linda Payne (Posey); her grandchildren, Sherry Boone (Robbie) and Mike Payne (Reyn); her great grandchildren, Campbell, Elise and Anderson; her daughter Nancy Ridley (Dennis); her grandson Bo Ridley (Holly); her great grandchildren, Bryce, Josh, Jackson and Ava; her grandson Justin Ridley; her great grandchild London; her brother-in-law Earl Surface (Elizabeth); and her nieces and nephews, Donna Sue Vanhoose, Alice Jean Carley, David Allen Douglas and Gary Arthur.

If you wish, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the American Legion in Pulaski, or the Hospice/Palliative Care at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
