He is survived by: his son John Dirk Akers (Sabrina); his grandson Cam Akers (Ashlan); his great grandchildren, Madison Akers, Cameron Akers, Camden Akers and Blake Akers; his brother George D. Akers (Pulaski); his brother-in-law Ken Ford; and his caregivers, Freda O'Dell and Emily Wesley.
