She was predeceased by : her former life partner Richard; and her brother Osten. She is survived by : her sisters, Gwen Suesse and Barbara Kroger; her sons, Timothy Metzler (Sarah) and David Metzler (Nina); and her grandsons, William and Andrew Metzler.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to The Children's Museum at Saratoga.
