He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Red" Johnson and Roberta Johnson; his brother Bob Johnson; and his sister-in-law Ann Johnson of Galax, VA.. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Morris Johnson; his children, Tom P. Johnson (Beth) of Radford, VA and Hillary J. Thompson (Wes) of Salem, VA; and his grandsons, Tristan P. Johnson, Avery P. Thompson and Aspen C. Thompson.
