He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Vance and Patsy E. Vance (Davis); his wife Violet Vance (Bailey); his siblings, Hattie Blackburn, Goldie Hurley, Thelma Keene, Setha Endicott, Gladys Hurley and Garland Vance; and his half-brothers, Bill Jackson and Ireland Jackson.
He is survived by: his son Joseph Dove Vance (Dianne Kay); his grandson Tommy Vance (Jessica); and his sister Glenna Keaton of Sophia, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
