He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Bowman and Susan Charles Bowman; his wife Dorothy Bowman; his siblings, Eva Ward, Goldie McDaniels, Faye Hawks, Alline Stiltner, Martha Irene Horne, Curtis Junior Bowman, Hobert Bowman, Elmer Bowman, Casby Bowman and Roby Bowman; and his son-in-law Larry Reynolds.
He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Reynolds of Keen Mountain, VA, Elizabeth Bowman-Ray of Lebanon, VA, Shellie Rowe (Willis) of Honaker, VA and Leslie Bowman (Lovace) of Roanoke, VA.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Shortridge Ramey Funeral Home of Oakwood (1020 Big Skeggs Road, Oakwood, VA 24631). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home (1020 Big Skeggs Road, Oakwood, VA 24631).
