She is survived by: her husband James Oliver Short; her son Christopher Mark Short (Lois) of Honaker, VA; her sisters, Angeline Mullins (Jerry) of Baptist Valley, VA and Della Proffitt of Kentucky; and her grandchildren, Kristy Chafin (Tayton Edwards), Taylor Short, Christine Byrd and Russell Chafin.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home (1401 2nd St, Richlands, VA 24641). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
