We announce the death of Janice Spicer Barrett of Reedville, Virginia, who passed away on July 27, 2026, at the age of 97. Janice will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Janice will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Janice will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Janice’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Spicer and Louise Spicer; her husband George M. Barrett; her grandson James Christopher Kuykendall; and her sister Virginia Weliky (Irving).
She is survived by: her children, Madelene Cutting (Kenny) and Tommy Barrett (Rich); her grandson Lee Kuykendall (Morgan); and her great grandchild Carter Kuykendall. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
