It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sara Jane Cockerill (Remington, Virginia), born in Buena Vista, Virginia, who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Gardner and Maizy Gardner (Alvin 'Buddy' Cockerill); her son Michael Cockerill; her mother-in-law Laura; and her sisters, Dorothy Pritchett and Alice Troy.

She is survived by: her sons, Gary Cockerill (Deanne) and Matthew Cockerill (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Timothy Cockerill (Audrey), Bryan Coffey (Lindsay), Hannah Cockerill (Savannah), Kaytlin Houde (Warren) and Emma Cockerill; her great grandchildren, Brianna Cockerill (Jesse), Brandon Houde, Thomas Dawson, Brooks Coffey, Sydney Cockerill and Charleigh Coffey; her great great grandchild Willow Jenkins; and her brother Johnny Gardner (Lelia). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and long-term dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Hospice of the Piedmont or Remington Baptist Church.
