With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Joseph Lane Jr. (Reston, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 2, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Joseph Lane Jr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Dorthea; and his sister Sheila Weir. He is survived by: his wife Mary Barbara; his daughters, Carolyn Jondahl (Ed), Angela Jones (Braun) and Jennifer Givens (Mark); his grandchildren, Jessica Garmer (Jack), Lindsay Novak (Joey), Shaun Jondahl, Sydney Givens, Will Jones, Natalie Givens, Julia Brady (Quin), Alexis Jones, Logan Jones and Sean Givens; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Alex and Max Novak; and his siblings, Thomas Lane (Danielle) and Maureen Maher. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Murphy's Funeral Home (1102 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA 22046). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Catholic Church (1421 Wiehle Ave, Reston, VA 20190).
