It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Richard Barnek of Reston, Virginia, born in Clarksville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Michael Barnek (Mike) and Elizabeth Barnek; and his brother James (Jim). He is survived by : his sister Carole Fowkes (Dale) of Bowie, MD; his nieces and nephews, Laurie Fowkes and Michael Fowkes (Heather); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Grant, Kelsey and Caitlin.

In light of this, the family kindly request that instead of sending flowers, those who feel inclined to honor Jack's memory consider making a donation to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in his name.
