The family announces the passing of Master Sergeant John Nelson in Reston, Virginia on April 29, 2025. Master, born on February 25, 1928, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Master will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Master by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Master is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Master’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his wife Madeleine Thurm Nelson (Manette) of Luxembourg; and his parents, Arvid Nelson and Hildur Nelson. He is survived by: his daughters, Catherine Nelson (Walter Diewald) and Caroline Nelson (Mark Champney) of Reston, VA; his grandsons, Nicholas Diewald (Alison Smith) of Fairfax, VA and Ian Champney of Washington, DC; and his brother Lynn Nelson. He is also survived by father and grandfather to his family.
