With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Inis Dales Boyd of Richlands, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Inis left this world on September 28, 2025 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Whetsel Dales and Edna Edwards Dales; her husband Willard Pierce "Bill" Boyd; her grandson Willard Pierce Boyd, II; and her siblings, Lois McClanahan and Larry Lee Dales.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Elswick (Todd) of Big Rock, VA, Sandy Horne (Gary) of Cedar Bluff, VA and Robert Boyd (Selena) of Harrisonburg, VA; her grandchildren, Jarod, Heather Looney, Grace, Richard Serna, Robert Pierce Boyd, Jeremiah Horne, Brittany Elswick, Tyler, Mary Looney, Casey Elswick, Jordan, Emily Elswick and Anderson Elswick; and her sister Patricia Dales. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home (1401 2nd St, Richlands, VA 24641). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
