He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Holmes and Beatrice Gross Holmes; and his siblings, Ricky, Lonnie, Preston, John Kelly Holmes and Phyllis Holmes Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Dye Holmes; his daughter Stephanie Holmes Jackson (Junior); his grandchildren, Laken Glacie Richardson (Richard) of Bristol, VA and Kolton Lloyd Brewer of Bristol, VA; his great grandchildren, Mace Rappleyea and Iyla Katherine Richardson; his brother Paul Allen Holmes (Pam) of Stephens City, VA.; and his close friend Bill Richardson (Kokie).
