Mary Sue leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary Sue’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Mary Sue will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Stephen Dean and Mary Hall Dean (Hazel); her grandparents, James M., Abert Liddle Dean, Walter and Mary Sue Ratliff Hall; and her adoptive son Gary Allen Lakey. She is also survived by several cousins, many friends, former students and co-workers.
She was a member of the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church and wanted in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to "In his Hand Baby Mission", C/O Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church P.O. Box 209 Cedar Bluff, VA 24609.
