She was predeceased by : her parents, Leander Thomas Hunnell and Nannie Lowe Hunnell; her husband John Troy Whitt, Sr.; and her siblings, Dolly Keen, Richard Hunnell, James Hunnell and Douglas Hunnell.

She is survived by : her children, Melinda Childress (Clinton) of Raven, VA, Donna Beavers of Richlands, VA, John Troy Whitt, Jr. (Susan) of Richlands, VA, Roy Whitt of Richlands, VA and Robbie Whitt (Marianne) of Cedar Bluff, VA.; and her caregiver Deborah McReynolds. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
