He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephus Johnson and Edith Johnson; and his siblings, Sarah Nell Weaver (Granville Weaver) and Richard Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Judy Johnson of Bachelor's Degree; his children, Travis Johnson, Myra Keener (Brian) and Megan Cox (Brian); his grandsons, Christopher Keener (Zoe) and Douglas Keener (Caroline); and his great grandchild Hudson Keener.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Goochland Baptist Church Missions Fund.
