As we bid April Denise farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For April Denise is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She is survived by: her husband Timmie L. Alston; her father Jerry Shepherd; her stepchildren, Timmie Alston Jr., Deontray Alston, Tequila Barnes and Deangelo Johnson; her siblings, Gerald Lawrence and Rhonda Harris; and her friend Darlene Grahm. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home (2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220).
