He was predeceased by: his parents, James Byron and Mary Henry Moore Whitlow; his wife Margaret Aurelia Carter; and his siblings, James "Jim" Calvin (Inez) and Joyce Spiers (Bobby).
He is survived by: his sisters, Gloria Guice (Eddie) and Patricia Pickeral (Ryland); and his daughters, Carole Cake (Leonard), Cathy Hawthorne (Bob) and Robin Purcell (Steve). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
