She was predeceased by: her parents, William Woodson Michaux and Bettie Armstrong Michaux; and her brother William S. Michaux. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Clay of Greenville, SC, Connor, Jordan of Charlottesville, VA and Ben (Baldwin, MD). She is also survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Rodney H Word Sr.; two sons.
