She was predeceased by: her husband Edsel Tieman; her brother Marvin Frerking; and her parents, Elmer Frerking and Laura Frerking. She is survived by: her children, Cindy Tappendorf (Don), Sandy Meyer (Peter) and Rob Tieman (Marcia); her grandchildren, Rebecca Argo and Adam; her children, Elijah, Jemma, Nathan Tappendorf, Kyle Tappendorf (Rachel), Alyssa Tappendorf, Ben Meyer, Caroline Fenker (David), Caleb Meyer (Nicole), Michelle Maher and Allison Tieman; and her sister-in-law Shirley Frerking.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) or Trinity Lutheran Church (Richmond, Virginia).
