It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deacon Myrtle Spurlock (Richmond, Virginia), who passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary F. and LawrenceHatcher, Jr.; her son Keith Lamont Spurlock; her grandson Jarrell Spurlock; her siblings, Bertha Parker, Costella Hatcher, Lawrence III and Leon Hatcher; and her daughter-in-law Crystal Spurlock.

She is survived by: her son John Armstrong Spurlock, Jr.; her grandchildren, John III, Derrick (Cierra), Craig, Chanté (Neil), LaTonya, Keith and Krystal; her brother Jerome Hatcher; and her niece Zelma Hatcher. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
