It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Delia Sofia Blanton in Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Sidney Armistead Blanton. She is survived by: her daughter Melvy Cokes; her grandchildren, George, John Paul, Carolyn Cokes, Joseph and Maelyn Cokes; and her great-childrens, Brandon, Jacob, Cameron, Kaleb, Nicholas, Delia, Aurora and Armistead.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Staples Mill Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bridget Catholic Church (6006 Three Chopt Rd, Richmond, VA 23226).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor.
