She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Clendenin Sr. and Georgia Clendenin; and her siblings, Marcella Rhoton and Thomas Clendenin, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Marion "Moe" Smith; her children, Jessica Morton (Ahmad) and Marion W. Smith III (Rhonda); her siblings, Linda Bledsoe (Jim), Reba Clendenin, Lula (Chuck) of Maine, Ballard A. Clendenin (Karen), Corky Clendenin (Tina) and Leonard Neely; and her grandchildren, Rashad, Alma, Aaron, Maryam, Ilyyas, Umar, Azim, Ali, Ava, Madison and Zoey. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
