Edith Martin Shepherd Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edith Martin Shepherd (Richmond, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 9, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husbands, Robin Douglas Epps and Leslie Cecil Shepherd; her son Douglas Neal Epps; her parents, James Howard Martin and Mary Sue Martin; her siblings, Phyllis Martin and Ray Martin; and her son-in-law Edwin Will.
She is survived by: her daughter Arlene Will; her granddaughters, Robyn Nay (James) and Melanie Epps (Cole); her great grandchild Lucy James Nay; her siblings, Wina Epps (Tommy), Sarah Kennedy (Donald) and Sam Martin (Fay); and her sister-in-law Bobbie Martin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and their children.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Branch's Baptist Church (3400 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond, VA 23234).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edith's name may be made to the Sappony Tribal Center, P.O. Box 3265, Roxboro, NC 27574, to support programs that help Sappony youth learn their heritage, honor their ancestors, and carry the traditions of the tribe forward for generations to come.
