With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Eleanor Rosalie Savage of Richmond, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Eleanor left this world on January 2, 2026 at the age of 98, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Eleanor may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Eleanor touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eleanor Douglas Kent and Edward Watts Gamble, Jr.; and her siblings, Edward Watts Gamble III, Charles William Kent Gamble and Elise Gamble Reed.
She is survived by: her husband A. Paul Funkhouser; and her children, John Paul Funkhouser and Eleanor Funkhouser Doar.
