He is survived by: his wife Linda Mace Gilliam; his children, Jeanette Godfrey, Shannon Jacobs, Fred Gilliam, Jr., Chris Godfrey, Dennis Jacobs, Jr. and Lynn Gilliam; his grandchildren, Kathryn, Caroline, James Gilliam, K. Simone Jacobs and Jason Godfrey; and his sister Florence Williams. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
