He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Allen Ellington and Kathleen Price Ellington; and his daughter Jessica Carter. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Witherell Ellington; his children, Tracy Sortzi and Jonathan Ellington; and his stepchildren, Christopher Hoctor and Jessica Cullen. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
