He is survived by: his wife Patricia Joyce Parsons; his daughter Cynthia Parsons Woodmansee; his son-in-law David Alan Woodmansee of Richmond Virginia; his son Robert Theodore Parsons; his daughter-in-law Mary Augusta Watson Parsons of Midlothian, Virginia; his son Daniel Thomas Parsons; his daughter-in-law Karen Simon Parsons of Baltimore Maryland; his daughters, Mary Parsons Knick of Midlothian, Virginia and Margaret Parsons Fretz; his son-in-law Robert Lewis Fretz of Midlothian, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Anna, Sarah Catherine Woodmansee-Meiner, Elizabeth Adden Parsons, Jonathan Andrew Parsons, Benjamin Ellis Parsons, Emma Kate Parsons, Emily Ryan Knick, Caroline Duncan Knick, Ella Katherine Fretz, Madeline Jane Fretz and Abigail Grace Fretz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
