She was predeceased by: her parents, Joel H. Mayes and Bettie M. Mayes; her siblings, Virginia M. Paulette, Nancy M. Williams (Kitty), Robert, Frank and Wyatt Mayes; her son Robert D. Cox; and her friend Shirley H. Stargardt. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
