She was predeceased by: her parents, John Cherry and Mildred Cherry; her husband Robert Gattis of Norfolk; and her daughter Lean Jean Harrelson. She is survived by: her siblings, Mary Bradshaw of Oxford, NC and John Wesley Cherry, Jr.; her sister-in-law Francis Cherry; her son-in-law Edward R. Harrelson; her grandchildren, Rebecca Nowell and Edward S. Harrelson; and her great grandchildren, Jonathan Hunter Mason, Dexter Bradley Nowell and Xianah Gems Saguban.
