It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry Ward McElroy Jr. of Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry McElroy Sr. and Lorraine George; his stepfather Carl Holler; and his former wife Barbara Ann Woodward. He is survived by: his children, Kelley O'Hara (Walter), Henry "Tripp" McElroy III (Kim) and Shannon Peifer (Brad); his grandchildren, Riley O'Hara, Luke O'Hara, Sullivan Peifer, Avery Peifer and Desmond McElroy; and his close friend Marietta Randolph.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to either of these organizations in Henry's memory: American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society Henry broke the mold—fueled by boundless curiosity, a welcoming heart, and an irrepressible zest for life.
