She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James McNee and Helen McNee; her husband Kenneth Alexander; and her sons, James and David Alexander. She was also cherished by her husband, sons, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters, Irene is survived by many family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial gifts be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
