With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Rife McGee of Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on March 15, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Francis E. McGee Jr. M. D.; and her parents, Josephine Compton Rife and Jay Powell Rife. She is survived by: her children, Christopher T. McGee of Richmond and Blair McGee Raber of Washington, D. C.; her children-in-law, Charlotte Blaylock McGee and Stephen David Raber; her grandchildren, Christopher McGee, Eleanor McGee, Catherine Raber and Margaret Raber; her grandson-in-law William George Shilton; her brother Jay Powell Rife Jr.; and her sister-in-law Janice Ann Stacy Rife.

“Dear Blair, Brian and I send our condolences on the loss of Jan to you and your family. We enjoyed her at the Tortiere parties and shared many laughs with her and your Dad. She would often meet Ronnie and I at the ring that she generously allowed us to use so we could all catch up and enjoy watching Roco run around. She enjoyed looking after the horses and dogs that shared her life. She was her own person and we were grateful to be a small part of her life. Sincerely Brian & Lynn Rowley”
