She was predeceased by: her parents, Minnie Mahoney Runkle Zimmerman and Frank Runkle; and her stepfather Richard Zimmerman. She is survived by: her husband Charles Stephen Lewis (Steve); her children, Sandy Hanson (Eric), Susan Taylor (Mark) and Carol Harrison (Steve); and her grandchildren, Brad Harrison (Brooke), Danielle Harrison, Adam Hanson (Nicole), Michelle Pierce (Zac), Jeffrey Harrison (Gretchen) and Beth Harrison.
Joan kept her sunny disposition despite her loss of independence over the last few years due to Alzheimer's disease.
