He is survived by: his wife LaVerne Taylor; his children, LaToya Reynolds (Michael) and John Horace Taylor Jr. (Luisa); his grandchildren, Ellis, Alexander, Gabrielle Reynolds, Amaya and Sean Taylor; his sister Daisy Boykins; his aunts, Emma Stith and Annie Ivory; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Bussie, James Webb, Clyde Webb, Thomas Webb and Marvin Webb. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
