He was predeceased by: his parents, John Root Todd and Mary Kathryn Stauffer Todd; his brother Steven Todd; and his son-in-law E. J. Brownie. He is survived by: his wife Elaine (Shaub); his children, Katrina Brownie and Christopher Todd (Amanda); his grandchildren, Julia Brownie and Andrew Brownie; his siblings, Jane Gerlach, Shirley Harsh and Barbara Hershey (Lawrence); and his sister-in-law Cathy Todd.
