He is survived by: his sister Alma Lou Lumpkin; and his sons, John Rushing (Susan), James Rushing (Jennifer) and Garland Rushing. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home (4650 S Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
