She was predeceased by: her son Donald Boyd Atkinson; her father James Leslie Powers; and her siblings, Louise Thompson, Frances Ledford, Raymond E., James W. and Carroll G. Powers.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan G. A. Michaels (David), Kathy L. Power (Gary) and Donna A. McCance (McGregor); her grandchildren, Jessica Michaels of Mechanicsville, Bradley, Matthew Power of Mechanicsville, Sierra and Shannan McCance of Charlottesville; her sister Hilda Wickham of Ashland; and her brother-in-law Ed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
