He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward L. Ruffin and Bernice Hadley Ruffin; and his siblings, Sharon, Beverly and Sonny.

He is survived by: his significant other Lonell L. Richardson; his stepmother Mary F. Ruffin; his sisters, Gayle Rasheed and Doreatha Pinkney; his uncles, Charlie L Ruffin and William McKinley Ruffin; and his aunt Mildred R. Bowman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial tribute will be held at a later date.
