He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Elizabeth Brooks and James Brooks; and his siblings, Janet Wright, Freddie Brooks Sr. and Gregory Brooks.

He is survived by: his siblings, Malinda Brooks-Williams, Delores Kimbrough and Larry Brooks; and his nieces and nephews, Faith Brooks, Freddie Brooks Jr., Lauren Williams, Lawrence Williams, Bryan Wright, Jason Wright and Nicole Wright-Johnson.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (1400 S Randolph St, Richmond, VA 23220).
