He was predeceased by: his son Lawrence D. Smith III; his parents, Lawrence D. Sr. Smith and Lois V. Smith; and his sister Constance L. Smith. He is survived by: his daughter LaTasia S. Turpin (Robert III); his grandchildren, Robert Augustus Turpin IV, Traci Alexis Turpin and Trent Alexander Turpin; his friend Elouise White; and his cousin Karen Matthews Davis. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
