He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Leslie W. Rose Jr. and Jean Burroughs Rose; his stepmother Mary Kaye Rose; and his siblings, Jean Snowa and Frederic Rose.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Smith Rose; his daughters, Jean Bridge (Joe), Sarah Good (Everett), Rebecca Lueders (Thomas) and Isabel Rose (Matt); his sisters, Isabel M. Rose and Deborah M. Silva (Tim); his brother-in-law Jim Snowa; his grandchildren, F. P., Joey Bridge, Ellie, Luke Good, Teddy, Shep and Wilson Lueders; and his pet Bubba.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Dr. Rose to Jackson-Feild Behavioral Health Services or The Virginia Home for Boys and Girls.
